Movies
My wife and I have a date night every Friday, and what we do varies each week. This past Friday night, we watched two movies. So here goes, my first movie reviews!
1. Wolverine - This was a great rendition of how Wolverine came to be. From his bundled up anger and issues to his claws and his memory loss. As Wolverine is the most well-known character in X-Men, this was a great first character to show the origins. The supporting actors were great, especially Logan’s half-brother.The fight scenes are action-packed, especially the ending fight down. The movie leaves you wondering, what’s next. I would highly recommend this movie if you are an X-Men fan, or even if you’re not. This movie is a great reflection tool to make us think about what things in our life have brought us to this point. It kind of made me think about our own stories. What got you to the point you are at today? What various events have made you who you are?
2. Ghost of Girlfriends Past - This play off of A Christmas Carol, brings the self-centered main character played by Matthew McConaughey, through all of his past relationships, his current break-ups, as well as his future life. If he continues down the road he is on, it shows him being lonely. He single-handily manages during his rampage of showing off, to ruin his little brother’s wedding (but reconciles everything after his experience). Just as Scrooge in A Christmas Carol, the main character realizes the way he has been living is not a great way to keep living. He finally realizes how much he really does love his childhood sweetheart and comes to his senses, unlike the Ghost of Christmas Past(his late Uncle Wayne-Michael Douglas). This is good movie to watch with a significant other… However, this story really did make me think about those of us that may have lived a life of rebellion or whatever. What was the changing point of your life? What made you finally figure out that you needed and even wanted to change deep down inside?
