Twelve Ordinary Men
God does use ordinary people to do extraordinary things. It is amazing how this book, Twelve Ordinary Men was really a great way to look at how God uses our weaknesses to show how amazing He is!
This book was an extraordinary book that showed what it takes to be used by God - just be you! The twelve disciples, nonetheless are remarkable people, but they are only that way because of what God made them to be! While reading through the book, I would continue to compare my weaknesses and strengths to the disciples, and to be honest, each of them can relate to all of us, even Judas.
What intrigued me most about Twelve Ordinary Men though, was Judas. It is amazing how God no matter what, even knowing that Judas would betray Him, still called Judas a friend and loved Him right up to the end. What is even more intriguing, is that Judas, even being in the direct presence of God, was not transformed because of his hard heart. The question I continued to ask myself though, is what about me is like Judas in that I do not allow God to work in my life to be more like the other 11 disciples; to be transformed to allow God to work through me at His full potential.
So, what is holding you back? Is there some area of your life that you do not allow your worship to be completely focused on God and allow God to work completely in your life; to be transformed by His amazing love, mercy and grace? Is there some way in which you realize that you have just been going through the motions. It is so easy for us to be involved with God, but to have a deep and passionate relationship with God can be hard.
This book really showed me that God can do amazing things with us, but we have to allow him full authority over our lives. We can’t only be somewhat committed to Him on Sundays and the rest of the week not be in relationship with Him. We must, be fully committed to him, not partially committed to Him.
To see how God transformed each of them is truly amazing, and believe it or not, we can be transformed just the same, but we have to give in completely to His will and His power.
I just hope that each of you reading this realizes, that He can and will change you, for His purpose, but let go of the wheel. Let Go and Let God!
